As I walked into Midtown Plaza I saw my usual favorites: Kernels, Sephora, Lush, and as I turned the corner there was a new store. The cardboard window blockers had finally been removed, the 'Aritzia' sign was lit up, and the store was stunning. Twice the size I had anticipated it being, it was sectioned into small bays of items to make it easy to navigate and shop, the walls are colorful and clean and they have the coolest, most knowledgable staff. As the night carried on it became busier and busier, the cocktails were amazing (I already attempted to replicate the recipe), the appetizers were equally as good (I snuck an extra of the mini smores), and the music was a combination of funk, soul and jazz and fit perfectly with the atmosphere. I was able to chat with ladies while we walked around and I helped style them in cozy knits, trousers, denim and structured coats.
If you haven't yet been to the store, I highly suggest you check it out. It's my new go-to for denim, knits and jackets; I could not be happier that we finally have an Aritzia in town, and I will no longer have to make those special trips out of province to scope out staple pieces.
When I arrived at the store, I looked in the mirror and thought to myself, "Maybe I made myself look a little too 'country' for my liking?...almost Carrie Underwood." That's cool though, as long as I'm far away from any country concert; my goal in life is to never attend a country concert. Although if Gwen can literally do country now, maybe I can too (? :/). Also, this pair of denim is especially high waisted, however, finally a pair I've found sans camel toe...so look no further girls.
