What does it mean when someone sends you a one word reply? Like, "Sure." "Ok." "Yes." or the dreaded "K." I was at my girlfriends place the other day and she was completely losing her mind over this text she received from a boy she had gone on two dates with. We completely over analyze the entire situation.
Friend: "He just said 'K.' K! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?"
Me: "I don't know! And there was a period?"
F: "There was a period!"
M: "That seems so intense. That changes everything."
F: "What do you mean it changes everything?"
M: "Well without the period it's a quick, easy syllable."
F: "Ok, quick and easy..."
M: "But with a period, that insinuates animosity."
F: "Oh god, animosity."
M: "What was the context of the conversation before the 'K.' ?!"
F: "I said 'maybe we could get together later' and he said 'K.' !"
M: "Oh no. That's not good."
F: "Not good?! What do you mean not good, Chan?! Tell me!"
M: "Well, it doesn't really seem like he wants to hang out with you."
F: "Oh my god. What did I do? Maybe it was because I took the last bite of dessert."
M: "That could be it."
F: "What have I done? That lava cake was so not worth it...but it really was."
M: "Lava cake is good."
Half an hour later he texts her back. "Where should we go?"
