Come winter I have trouble letting go of some of my favorite summer shoes. The minute snow starts falling women everywhere are expected to say goodbye to their strappy sandals and make way for clunky boots. Why should cold flakes of ice stop us from donning our Dolce Vita's that we worked so hard for? Don't stare longingly at them sitting in the closet. It is not that hard to walk on snow and ice--or maybe I just have skills from all of the practice I get. Lesson of the day: when winter rears it's ugly head THROW ON SOME SOCKS, dust off your beautiful shoes and wear them out day or night and blizzard or shine. Since it is one of the only 'affordable, fashion-forward, corporate retailers' in Saskatoon, American Apparel is often my go to for cool basics. Some mornings I wake up, get dressed and find myself wearing the brand head to toe. My first thought is always, 'UGH! I feel so uncreative wearing all American Apparel!' But that's just a testament to the brands wearability and no matter what kind of day I'm having their clothes are always an easy option.
