I recently got back from a Vegas vacation with some friends celebrating my 21st birthday and it just so happened to overlap with the 2013 Las Vegas Magic Tradeshow - one of the largest exhibitions for clothes, accessories and shoes. The owners of the shoe boutique I work at were attending the event and asked me to join them - I didn't have to think twice. It was amazing: the attendees covered the grounds with fantastic outfits, free goodies were there for the taking, and champagne was served at almost every booth. All these perks were great, but my favorite part of the tradeshow was seeing the creators and curators of each booth representing and pushing their brands. My only regret: not taking a single photo - I was too busy scoping out all of the gorgeous shoes!
I've been pretty much living in my Nike Free Runs, I feel like they go with almost everything and give a laid back vibe; perfect for walking the strip. I remember thinking exactly the opposite when dreading putting on a similar pair for gym class in elementary school. Now when I see them with the right outfit the look is so effortless and cool. I saw countless running shoes on the streets, but all paired with the 'never should this happen unless you are going to or leaving the gym' athletic wear. I partially understood, comfort and function should never be taken out of the equation in the scorching Vegas heat. So I took full advantage and wore outfits that were not only comfortable, but also maintained my personal style. Some pieces I wouldn't normally be able to wear at home (+40° celsius never happens) but on this trip I felt like anything goes, it's Vegas. I wore the same outfit later that night but instead paired with a mini audiere and caged open toe sandals for a little Old Vegas charm- check it out on Instagram.
