A few days ago I arrived back home from visiting the boy in LA and it reinforced something that I had already known: I want/must/need/yearn to live in a bigger city. I'm not sure if that means LA, but I need to be where the things are happening. The size of the city I am from is equivalent to one of LA's many suburban areas. A person doesn't receive strange looks or second thoughts, everyone just seems to be doing there own thing. Vegetarian and vegan restaurants, tiny crop tops, blacked out Land Rovers and dogs allowed everywhere (I especially love that last one) are the norm. We visited the observatory one night and it put the scale of the city in perspective with an expansive horizontal landscape, relatively centerless sprawl (although the downtown skyline is like any other metropolitan) and countless layers. And for all of it's quirk LA has a charm that you don't see in the movies. Woah, I also just realized this is one of the firsts posts with my hair not in a bun...I had the chance to try a salon in LA and it didn't exactly turn out as expected but it's growing on me.
