How would you define a 'classic' pair of shoes? What makes a certain style or brand a staple? Whether it's a Monolo pump, Chanel flat or Converse sneaker each are so different yet endlessly versatile. They all fit the criteria of what it means to be 'classic': each has ability to work seamlessly with any outfit, each can instantly change the feeling of a simple black dress, they are all relatively accessible and each has ability to transcend time and trends. They will never go out of style. If you don't have at least one pair of said shoes I highly suggest you make the investment. For this particular outfit I just grabbed clothes lying around my room that were meant to be put away a week ago and this was the result. It's the perfect example of how a pair of Converse can completely change the feeling of an outfit. I wore this same dress and blazer for my launch party with a pair of heels and felt party ready. The incorporation of a classic sneaker took the outfit in a completely different direction. I look like a 'blonde high school cheerleader, gone cool kid, gone captain of the debate team' (in a good way). It was almost like I was in a GAP ad or a student at a preppy east coast college and it felt ohh so good.
