I've wanted to do a fashion driven lingerie shoot for a long time; I'm not talking boudoir, something more like 90's Vogue. All I needed to set the stage was a white bed, checker floor, some magazines, lip stick and the star of the show: champagne. The last thing I had to grab for the shoot was the champagne or should I say 'sparking wine' and it's telling how much packaging plays a roll in decision making when looking for the perfect bottle. I contemplated buying an $80 bottle of Veuve Clicquot just because it came in a luxurious, pink thermal 'shopping bag' but settled for the $10 bottle of PASSION POP (at least it was pink). Rachael was perfect for this shoot. She is one of my best friends and happens to looks like a modern Marilyn Monroe (maybe Marilyn X Gwen Stefani?!) so who better to lounge around in underwear with. I mean slumber parties, applying lipstick, drinking champagne and reading magazines are all part of a typical day for us anyways ;). Apparently having blonde hair and wearing lipstick makes us sisters. Soul sisters yes -- blood sisters not so much. Also, just to clarify this is my blog and I did the logo illustration. I am beyond appreciative that Rachael helps me out with some graphics, photos and photo editing, but Rachael DOES have her own blog that's worth the visit. She is an extremely talented illustrator and graphic designer (her muses are Marilyn Monroe (duh) and Gwen Stefani (duh)). She was given the title of 'It Girl' by FASHION Magazine in their August issue and her work has been featured in the likes of FLARE, Plaid Magazine and OTM. Lets get to know her...
